If you are meaning to compare professional sports to an IT organization, then I must say its so far into the apples vs. oranges spectrum that it defies an answer.

The point is: we need to find a way to restore the entrepreneurial spirit into an IT organization. Empower people and place the reward in front of them.

My simple mind tells me that the results would be no worse than the current schemes in place and stand a chance of having a much bigger upside for value.

But as Dennis Miller says, “…just my opinion, I could be wrong…”
